FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Comets are thought to be kicked out of the Oort Cloud or Kuiper Belt by
passing stars,
but the most probable origins are far simpler...
Deserves a lot of development, but the essentials are there

Chaotic swarms of proto-comets would have enough energy to
randomly eject smaller such bodies every so often, and the existence of such
swarms in the Oort Cloud and the Kuiper Belt is almost inevitable, given
gravity. The result presented also has implications with regard to asteroid dangers
for the Earth (and the Moon, which will mean more to us when we start setting up
shop there).
