Almost all of science’s...
oversights are only partial, but there are many examples. Science knows that even the smallest mass
affects all other masses gravitationally, but ignores this when
maintaining that lighter and heavier bodies fall at the same rate. Science
knows that thermodynamic systems are ergodic, but ignores this when
maintaining the second law of thermodynamics, i.e. that entropy always
increases in an isolated system. Science knows that fields affect the
arrangements of particles, but ignores this when saying that entropy equals
increasing disorder.
Some scientists will probably point this out —
one or another variant of “we knew that already”
— when trying to hold the position that these are not...
oversights, not really. But this actually makes this
situation — these many what are clearly... oversights, as numerous as they are
serious — all
the more incomprehensible, and all the more important to confess and study
openly and publicly.

- Newton’s Great... Oversight in his Theory of Gravity
-
Despite the well-known finding of Galileo a few decades earlier, that
lighter and heavier bodies fall at the same rate,
Newton failed to investigate that finding with his new theory of gravity.
If Newton, or anyone else then or since, had done so, they would have found that, in
fact...
Newton’s own theory predicts
that Galileo’s
lighter and heavier bodies do NOT fall at the same rate.
But...
scientists and educators
still teach, and
even think, that they do fall at the same rate.
This also has implications for Einstein’s Theory
of Relativity (see
Einstein’s Great... Oversights, just below) which says that lighter and heavier test
particles accelerate at the same rate. They do so only in the context of a
strictly absolute reference frame, something that Newton accepted (but
wasn’t happy about), but Einstein rejected... “absolutely”.

deserved in places, but the

There are many synergistic, and very serious... oversights here.
E.g. the equivalence principle — the fundamental concept of General Relativity
— doesn’t approximate reality well enough,
standard theory and experimental support for “gravitational
lensing” actually suggest that atmospheric
refraction is doing a major portion of the lensing of starlight
around the Sun, and of course the extremely embarrassing result that lighter and heavier
bodies do in fact fall at different rates unless one measures their
acceleration-falling with respect to the absolute Newtonian
spacetime frame of reference (see Newton’s Great... Oversight,
just above).

Comet Origin... Oversights; deserves more

Passing stars kick comets into orbits taking them near the
Sun?!
The... oversighted answer is much simpler: gravity.
Swarms of proto-comets in e.g. the Kuiper Belt interact gravitationally,
intermittently spitting out comets, some in the direction of Earth.
And this same mechanism that can turn proto-comets into comets can turn quiet
asteroids into Earth destroying monsters.

Scientists dismiss, without proper scientific
consideration, many exciting possibilities: did the Big Bang take place in
an already existing spacetime quantinuum? (Stars that seem older than the
cosmos suggest this, as do scriptures that many consider sacred.) Did
the Big Bang take place like an earthquake, in fits and starts, just as an
everyday explosion does if one looks examines it at the pico-second level?
And many more...
